Project Description

As specialists in the field of restoring plasterwork this is the exciting part of our craft. On the right is a piece of moulding removed from a Victorian cornice with years of paint built up. On the left the paint has been cleaned away to reveal the original crisp detail of this very pretty scrolled flower, typical of mouldings from this era. Even after years of carrying out this kind of work We are still amazed to find how well preserved and sharp these plates from early gelatine moulds can be. In another image you can see in more detail, the installation of a large decorative cornice that crossed over into the oncoming mitre.
